of wonder. Founded in 1846, Vlisco’s history reflects complex cultural and
historical connections, with its prints designed by international teams in the Netherlands becoming cultural treasures embraced and redefined by African women, who have imbued them with names, meanings, and deep cultural significance across West and Central Africa.
