Muriel Blanche x Vlisco
Actress, entrepreneur, and cultural icon, Muriel Blanche is one of Cameroon’s most compelling contemporary voices. As part of a new generation of storytellers, she brings authenticity to everything she does, redefining what it means to be iconic in today’s Africa.
Her relationship with Vlisco is both personal and generational. “Vlisco is not just about prints, it’s about this real legacy that we all see and feel,” she reflects. First worn by her mother and the women who raised her, Vlisco fabrics were a marker of presence and pride. Weddings, ceremonies, family gatherings - each moment was punctuated by wax.
"It’s a way to honour where I come from, and to carry that forward."
“The more I saw my mother wear Vlisco, the more I wanted to wear it too,” she says. “It’s a way to honour where I come from, and to carry that forward.” Today, Muriel wears Vlisco in her own iconic way - bold, intentional, and true to herself.
In “Icons Last Forever”, Muriel steps into that lineage - not only as a model, but as a symbol of cultural continuity. For the actress, being iconic is not about status or spectacle, but about staying true to oneself while inspiring others.
“Legacy isn’t just what we inherit, it’s what we build, what we invest ourselves in, and what we pass on,” she says. In this campaign, she brings that belief to life, becoming part of Vlisco’s living archive. A reflection of the past, a voice of the present, and an impression for the future.
Introducing
Icons Last Forever
There are designs that mark a moment. And there are those that transcend it.
“Icons Last Forever” explores what it means to be iconic - not just once, but across generations. This campaign honours the timeless power of Vlisco’s most iconic designs. Prints that have shaped identities, inspired generations, and become cultural treasures.

From past to present, from mothers to daughters, this is a story of legacy, Vlisco’s living archive.
We draw inspiration from the legendary portraits of Malian photographer Seydou Keïta (1921 - 2001), whose images captured the beauty and soul of an era. Many of his subjects wore Vlisco prints that have become part of the continent’s visual history. His work reminds us that legacy lives in what we choose to carry forward.
We begin with the Icons: original, era-defining designs worn in the portraits of Keïta. The story continues with the Hommage designs: past reinterpretations that built a bridge from legacy to the present moment. And it arrives at the Revival designs: new creations from our Design Studio that honour what came before while looking ahead.
